Wow! I apologize I have not updated since Christmas. So much has happened since then, but there is no excuse. As a personal update, Faith and I were married on January 10th, 2009, and we now reside in Louisville, KY. We are wishing this time here in KY will only be for a short season as we try to finish seminary. Ok, now here is what you came for...
Yesterday, I ran into an old friend who I had not seen in quite a while. This friend had a promising job he had been doing for over a year and a half. Recently, this friend of mine was laid off. The place where he had been employed were making cut backs like many other businesses are now due to the poor economy. I hurt for this friend of mine. The first night in Louisville, I woke up in the middle of the night and thought, "I don't have a job. I have many bills to pay and a wonderful wife to provide for...but no job." I spent much time in prayer that night. Needless to say, the Lord sent me someone who offered me a promising job. Now, as I was sharing my story with this friend of mine I was really hesitant. I did not want it to come off as if I was rubbing it in his face. He did not react in the way I was concerned he would. His response had to do with the fact that I was saying, "God is faithful." Although we may not understand His ways, He is in complete control and knows what He is doing with our lives. Our lives may not make sense. We may feel as though we could plan them better. However, God knows what is best and His plan is perfect. He is faithful to fulfill His plans in your life. All of this to say...TRUST IN THE LORD. HE IS FAITHFUL. 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, "God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful." If you trust God with the salvation of your soul, do you trust Him with the everyday things of life? How are you responding to God's faithfulness in your life? Are you sharing it with others? Are you being faithful to Him? John MacArthur, a pastor, said, "Our need is not to prove God's faithfulness but to demonstrate our own, by trusting Him both to determine and to supply our needs according to His will."
