CAFC COVID-19 PROCEDURES

WORSHIP GATHERINGS RESUME

We are thrilled to begin worshipping together again as a church family. We know, however, things cannot remain the same if we are to ensure a safe and enjoyable worship gathering together. Over the last few months, our elders have met and made some difficult decisions regarding the procedures for our Sunday morning worship gatherings. As we begin to gather for worship again, please know that we are working hard to ensure the safety and care of our church family and those around us.

INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY WORSHIP

POLICY

With the government lifting restrictions, we now feel comfortable with resuming our in-person worship gatherings. However, we ask that you please review these three questions about yourself (and children) before attending a worship gathering:

1. Have you experienced any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell?

2. Have you been in contact with anyone exhibiting the symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days?

3. Have you had a fever of greater than 100 degrees in the past 48 hours?

If you or your children can answer "yes" to any of these questions, we ask that you and your family please stay home.

PROCEDURES

This list is by no means exhaustive and will be updated frequently. If you have a specific question, please e-mail us at clineavenuefellowship@gmail.com!

  • What if I am too nervous to come back?
While we understand the desire to come back, we want you to know there is no pressure to return before you are ready. If you are elderly or vulnerable, we recommend you stay home and watch the worship gatherings on our Facebook Livestream.
  • What measures are being taken to help protect us?
We have a special team dedicated to sanitizing all chairs, surfaces, bathrooms, handrails, etc. We are taking serious the need to keep things clean and safe for all of our church family and guests.
  • How will the seating be handled in the gymnasium?
You and your family will be seated by ushers in seats arranged as to maintain a safe distance between families. Each family will have their own row and the rows are distanced six feet apart. Only those who desire to share rows will be allowed to do so.
  • What will the worship gathering be like?
While much of our worship gathering will be familiar, there will also be some key differences: a shortened worship structure, limited building access, and finally a row-by-row dismissal after the pastoral prayer. Hand sanitizing stations will also be available by the entrance, bathrooms, and sanctuary. Please use sanitizer prior as you enter the sanctuary.
  • What about ClineKids?
At this time, we will not be offering any of our ClineKids ministries, and ask that children sit with their own families during the worship gathering. We will be preparing ClineKids packs for the children each week. We encourage you to prepare your children for worship, pack some snacks or toys, and if you must a charged tablet. While we hope your best in controlling your children and minimizing distractions, please do not let internal pressure keep you from worship. We love the children and love that they witness our worship (and participate!).
  • What if I’m new?
Welcome! We are sorry this is a crazy time to visit, but we are excited for you to join us. You are our guest and we want you to feel at home. Please do us one favor and fill out a connect card in the back or you can fill one out a Connect Card online by clicking here.
  • What is your mask policy?
UPDATED* Beginning Monday, July 27, 2020, the Governor of Indiana signed an executive order requiring masks to be worn in public places. This does include church worship gatherings. Because of this executive order, we will be requiring masks to be worn by people (8 years and older) as they enter and exit our building. Masks will not be required while seated during the worship gathering and adhering to social-distancing guidelines. We will make masks available for those who do not have one. WHEN MASK ORDER IS LIFTED HERE IS OUR POLICY: While we will not be requiring masks, we encourage you to wear them if you feel led to do so. It is a great way to demonstrate a love and respect for one another.
  • How do I give?
There will be three ways you can give your offering. There will be a physical basket you can drop your giving into during any point of the worship gathering. You can always give online and can click here to give now. If you are not prepared, you can mail in your giving to the church building (8600 Cline Avenue, Highland, Indiana 46322).
  • Will we be holding hands at the end?
There will be no hand holding during the benediction portion of our worship gathering. In fact, we encourage you to show respect to one another, knowing that some may feel ready to hug and shake hands while others need to refrain for some time. In all these things, we are called to unity and peace. Do not be offended if some are not ready.
  • What if I want to fellowship?
We have decided to make space for fellowship after the completion of worship gathering and tear down of all equipment. The doors to outside will be opened immediately after worship if you would like to fellowship outside. The children can go to the playground, as long as they are supervised by a parent or guardian. We are asking all church members to first help with tear down and then fellowship.
